About Jennifer "LJ" Crawford
Why STEM?
Growing up, I was always that annoying little kid asking questions and bringing my mom bugs and snakes. I could spend all day exploring. I was lucky enough to have science teachers who kept that curiosity alive. I went on to study Natural Resource Management at UNC Wilmington and began a career in the NC State Park system. I got to get up and go to work and DO STEM everyday! When it came time to move, I chose science education as my next career path.
I firmly believe that students can accomplish anything they set their minds to. I am very excited to be a part of Oakboro Choice STEM and I can't wait to see where the students (and community) take us. Go Eagles!

- About Jennifer "LJ" Crawford Teaching since 2002 National Board Certified National Geographic Certified Educator Masters Degree in Education Certified NC Environmental Educator Paideia/International Baccalaureate (IB)/AVID trained Mother of 3 great kids! Fun Facts I'm originally from Buffalo, New York I am a complete dork. I love Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Deadpool, Game of Thrones, Outlander...the list goes on! Favorite sports: Football (GO BILLS!!!) and Ice Hockey Hobbies: Reading, Horseback riding, swimming, (Ok...if it's outside I probably like it!) I used to be a certified law enforcement officer (All part of being a Park Ranger) I like video games. (Skyrim, Dragonage, Lara Croft, Legos.....)
