Mrs. Carrick's 1st Grade STEM Scholars!

I am so happy that your child will be in my class this year! I am
dedicated to challenging and engaging students in all aspects of
academics, especially STEM! We will be implementing problem-based
learning in all subject areas. Students will be solving real-world
problems and engineering many creations!

 

This will be my third year teaching my very own classroom. I started out as a teaching assistant here at OCSS and in a self-contained EC classroom at Millingport
Elementary. 

Life outside my classroom is mostly spent enjoying quality time
with my family. I have three children that attend
Oakboro Choice STEM as a 3rd grader, 5th grader and a 7th grader.

 

It is very important to me that we have open lines of
communication. Please feel free to call me at school with any questions
or concerns. The best way to contact me is through Class Dojo, our
behavior/class management tool. Please keep in mind that all emails
and Dojo messages are checked before and after school. So please
allow a 24-48 hour time frame for all responses.
